Cables are a super popular knitting embellishment, and they're easier than you think!
With our knit hat project, you will learn the basics of knitting cables while making a very cute hat.
This is all about the cables, so you will come to the class with your hat already started: you'll cast on, join to knit in the round, and complete the ribbing before the class starts. Don't worry, we'll email you the directions!
You will need:
For Chunky weight:
1 - 100g ball chunky weight yarn, such as
Berroco Ultra Wool Chunky,
Kraemer Perfection Chunky, or
Herriot GreatUS8 & US10 circular knitting needles,
16" long or
3.5" Interchangeable tips and a
20" cordcable needle, you'll find several types
here.
For Bulky weight:
1 ball bulky weight yarn, such as
Rowan Big Wool,
Manos del Uruguay Franca, or
Cascade Pacific BulkyUS13 circular knitting needles,
16" long or
3.5" Interchangeable tips and a
20" cordcable needle, you'll find several types
here.
Note, a bulky hat is quicker, but might be more awkward to knit on those fat needles!
