Learn to Quilt

This is a fast paced course to help you make your first (or most recent) quilt. If you need more support between the first and second session, you can attend a Quilt Clinic at a 50% discount.

Over two sessions, you will learn: basic block layout, sewing blocks and rows together, adding borders, sandwiching, quilting, and binding. Yes, really!

We will be starting with pre-cut squares to make it easier.

Materials & supplies you will need:
-Sewing machine*, thread, scissors, straight pins, curved safety pins, fresh needle in your machine, good quality thread, and the usual sewing supplies

Baby/Lap Quilt - approx. 28” x 34”
-1 Charm Pack of your choice - 5” x 5” squares
-1/2 yard one contrast fabric for a border (you may choose this at the first class)
-1 yard fabric for backing
-1/2 yard for binding

For Table Runner - approx. 19” x 65”

**limited number of sewing machines will be available to borrow and must be booked in advance. It is always better to be learning on your own machine - it's the one you will be using at home!

If you haven't sewn on a machine or aren't experienced on your machine, please take a private clinic before the first lesson. If the times of the private lessons don't suit you, contact us
