Ever wanted to make one of DreaRenee Knits Shift projects? Come knit one with us!
Choose from the Shifty (pullover), the Shift Cowl, Nightshift (shawl) or the Shiftalong Hat. We'll help you choose yarn!
We'll meet twice, and feel free to start your project beforehand or wait until the knit along to get going. The sessions can just be social or you can get help and advice. The shawl and cowl can be tricky to get going but don't worry - we've got you.
Here are the projects and some yarn ideas:
NIGHTSHIFT
Get the printed pattern here. This one is knit in an Aran or heavy worsted yarn. Think Aran weight yarns like Noro Ito (just choose 2 balls!), Noro Silk Garden (need 8-9 balls), or a solid version with Lucky Tweed (need 3 skeins). You can also use 3-4 skeins of worsted weight yarn like Malabrigo Rios or Dream in Color Classy and Classy Cashmere.
SHIFTY, SHIFT COWL, SHIFTALONG HAT
Printed patterns: Shifty, Shift Cowl. Hat is only available on Ravelry.
All three of these use a light sport weight yarn. Our Shift Cowl shop sample is made with 3 balls of Edition 3, and we have created a variety swatch so you can see how the pattern knits up with some faves like Manos Fino, Tosh Merino Light and Camper, each paired with Edition 3. Nervous about knitting with such skinny yarn? We've also done the math (and the swatches) so you can scale up to a DK or light worsted yarn. We've tried Rowan Felted Tweed, Felted Tweed Color, Scout, and Feederbrook Farm Entropy.
A note about the patterns: we have printed patterns for sale for all but the hat, see links above. These patterns cost $3-$3.50 more than buying on Ravelry, but include a download code so you can also have the digital version in your Ravelry library. If you don't want/need the printed version, remember that we can purchase them for you through Ravelry in-store sales! Same price for you, a little benefit for us :-)
