This is for kids who already know how to sew. If your kid is interested but doesn't know how to sew yet, check out our Learn to Sew Series!

Each week we'll make a new sewing project. Projects will include (but are not limited to): a throw pillow, a drawstring backpack, a pencil case and a bucket hat!

Here are the materials you will need for each project:

We recommend that you buy one spool of thread in a color that works with all of your fabric choices, or just white or off-white.

Week 1 - Throw Pillow:
1/2yd quilting cotton OR 2 fat quarters (if you want the back and front to be different)

Week 2 - Drawstring Backpack
1/2yd quilting cotton for exterior fabric
1/2yd quilting cotton for lining

Week 3 - Pencil Case
1 fat quarter for exterior fabric
1 fat quarter for interior fabric
9" zipper (either to match or to contrast your fabric!)

Week 4 - Bucket Hat
1/2yd quilting cotton or linen for exterior
Optional: 1 fat quarter for contrasting lining

5th & 6th projects are determined by the class.

Pins, clips and scissors are provided in the classroom, but feel free to bring your own.

We do have sewing machines for kids to borrow, but only a limited amount. If you need to borrow a machine, please call the store to reserve one!

Six 2 hour classes with a makeup class scheduled for week 7
