Brioche Knitting Basics
Brioche is a great technique to show off pretty hand-dyed yarn - you see both colors on each side!
Choose two contrasting colors in worsted weight yarns, such as Malabrigo Rios. Make sure the colors are high contrast to each other (light/bright and dark/muted).
During the first class, Lindsay will guide you through the basic steps of working the Brioche stitch in the round. For the second class, you will have the option to continue working on your cowl, or learning to work the Brioche stitch flat in a new project.
Materials needed:
2 skeins of worsted weight yarn in HIGH CONTRASTING COLORS to each other
Note - you may use variegated or striped yarns, but make sure the second skein reads as a solid color
16" circular needle, size US8
Stitch marker
Copy of the free pattern, available here
To save time at the beginning of class, you may want to cast on 80 stitches prior to class (use either one of your yarns)
