Sew The Hinterland Dress

Meet the Hinterland Dress, a timeless sewing pattern from Sew Liberated! This dress features a scoop neckline, a gathered skirt with pockets and set-in sleeves. In the class, we will make the dress without the button-front closure (for the sake of time). BUT, you will learn how to sew SET-IN SLEEVES and a BIAS TAPE NECKLINE! Total game changers that will open up a world of sewing patterns! Plus, the pattern has so many variations, you can make a Hinterland for every season! Long sleeves, tank, midi, mini - it's so versatile!

Pattern pieces must be cut out before class! We need all the class time for sewing the dress. We can help you figure out your size in store (before class day), or you can come to one of our Sewing Clinics and a teacher can help you find your size and cut out the pattern pieces.

This class is for intermediate or confident beginner garment sewists, which means you must be able to maintain seam allowances independently. If you are totally new to garment sewing, we recommend taking the "Pajama Pants" class or the "Sew a Skirt with Pockets" class before taking this one.

Materials needed:

Hinterland Dress pattern (sold at our store!)

Fabric in required yardage (found on pattern). We recommend either our yarn-dyed cottons, a lightweight linen or a rayon/linen blend. So many yummy choices in store!

Matching polyester thread

Optional: contrasting thread (for sewing the gathers)

We have scissors, pins and clips, but feel free to bring your own notions. Cutting mats, rotary cutters, irons and a serger will be provided. It's recommended that you bring your sewing machine to class!
