Foundation Paper Piecing Techniques Class
In this class we'll learn a couple techniques for making Foundation Paper Pieced blocks (FPP). This is a great introduction to paper piecing that gives you a taste of the process and lots of tips and tricks for creating with this precision technique. The goal of this class is to learn the technique. A finished piece does not have to be the result. BUT, you can turn the blocks into a wall hanging like our sample, or use the blocks for other things such as a pouch, patch or pocket on a tote bag or garment, pot holder, or placemats! Let the blocks inspire you when they're finished.
Provided in the class cost is one each of 5 It's Sew Emma branded 6" finished Paper Foundations including Snails Trail, Economy Block, Log Cabin, Flying Geese and Woven Star.
Fabric Requirements: A bunch of quilting fabric scraps of various sizes in Lights, Mediums and Darks. Choose a few complimentary colors in varying values or go for all the colors. Anything goes here, but be sure to include contrasting values. You could use 8-12 10" squares or even fat quarters.
Supplies: - Sewing machine
- neutral sewing thread
- 6-1/2" or longer ruler
- scissors
- pins

- Light Box
- 6" or 12" Add-a-Quarter ruler
- fabric/wash-out glue stick
- seam roller
- tracing wheel
- small iron and pressing board
- rotary cutter
*If you need to borrow a sewing machine, we have a limited number available and they must be booked in advance. Book Here. It is always better to be learning on your own machine - it's the one you will be using at home!
