Crochet a Fair Isle Cardigan
This is an intermediate class, so a knowledge of crochet stitches as well as how to increase is required. Knowledge of Fair Isle or garment construction is not necessary.
This pattern is available in many sizes, ranging from 1-2 years and up to 4XL! It's a relaxed fit, designed with 1-3 inches of positive ease in the bust. Because this is a Fair Isle design, you must choose one solid main color and one accent color. The accent color can be variegated! You can go high or low contrast, classic Fair Isle or more modern colors, the combinations are completely your choice! The main color should definitely be your favorite and something that will go with the rest of your wardrobe. Ask the folks at the shop if you need help picking colors!
In the first class, we will determine which size you should make (you can also do this on your own ahead of time). We will then go over the Fair Isle crochet technique and review increasing on a garment. For homework, you should work all of your increase rounds to complete the yoke. In the second class, we will go over how to split for the sleeves and body. Then you will have two weeks to work on the body, so in the third class we can go over how to attach new yarn to complete the sleeves. The final class will be used to talk about finishing options (different styles of ribbing, making buttonholes, etc).

5mm and 4.5mm crochet hooks (the pattern says 4.25mm but that's not a common size to have in your bag - 4.5mm will do just fine)
Stitch markers
Tapestry needle
DK or Worsted yarn for both the main color and contrast color (the number of skeins needed depends on your size!)
**Choose a wool yarn with a bit of texture/halo. We recommend either Berroco Ultra Wool, Berroco Ultra Alpaca or Scout by Kelbourne. You can also use a multi-color yarn for the contrast color, like Entropy or Berroco Ultra Alpaca Natural.
