Hand Appliqué Bootcamp

Join local quilt legend, Kevin Devine, to learn a new technique to level up your quilting in preparation for the Anna Maria Rhapsody Applique Block of the month. You may wonder if you have to be signed up for the BOM to take this class? You do not, but if you are taking it, this would be a great opportunity to refresh your applique skills.

In this class we’ll review hand applique, which is the attaching of fabric pieces to a larger piece of fabric using hand stitching. We'll discuss preparing the applique pieces and attaching them with the applique stitch using different techniques, such as heat resistant mylar templates, water soluble templates, iron-on interfacing and needle-turn. We’ll also discuss various products used in hand stitching and the different options available.


Supplies needed for class:
1. Small sharp pointed scissors
2. Your favorite thimble
3. Readers / Magnifying Glasses (if needed)
4. Applique pins
