Kids Crochet Level 2: Project Class

Now that you know the basics of crochet, it's time to make some projects!

Join other young crocheters (ages 9-16) as you build your skills while creating fun projects. Choose from these projects:

• Hat

• Fingerless Gloves

• Stress Ball/Hacky Sack

• Mini Monster Amigurumi

If you choose the Stress Ball/Hacky Sack or Mini Monster, you'll also learn the basics of amigurumi—the art of crocheting stuffed toys and figures.

This class meets three times, with one week between sessions to give you time to work on your project at home before learning the next steps in class.

 

PROJECT OPTIONS

1. Easy Beginner Hat – North Van Toque Pattern

• Uses worsted-weight (medium #4) yarn

• Sample made with 1 skein of Malabrigo Rios

• Hook: G (4.0 mm)

2. Beginner Fingerless Gloves

• Uses worsted-weight (medium #4) yarn

• Sample made with ½ skein of Malabrigo Rios

• Hook: J (6.0 mm) for the foundation chain and H (5.0 mm) for the remainder of the project

3. Stress Ball/Hacky Sack

• Free pattern provided in class

• Uses a small amount of worsted-weight yarn (sample made with Coastal Cotton)

• Hook: E (3.5 mm) or a size appropriate for your yarn

• Additional supplies: small bag of fiberfill stuffing (stress ball)

4. Mini Monster Amigurumi

• Uses small amounts of worsted-weight yarn (samples made with Coastal Cotton and Pima Cotton)

• Hook: E (3.5 mm) or a size appropriate for your yarn

• Choose one or two main colors

• The instructor will provide small amounts of additional accent colors of cotton yarn to share
