Cathedral Cowl with Beads

Take this class to learn how to embellish your knits with beads while creating this pretty cathedral cowl.
You’ll learn how to add the beads with a crochet hook. Don’t worry, you don’t need to know how to crochet to do this! This cowl is knit in the round and includes knit two together and yarn overs which will be covered if needed.
Please knit the first 6 rounds (knit and purl) before class so that we can get started with the first row that includes beads in class. The pattern is a 14 stitch repeat if you’d like to make your cowl wider.
Materials
-
Cathedral Cowl Pattern - please purchase before class
-
150 - 200 yards double knit yarn (I used Plymouth Sonnet for mine.)
-
US size 6 (4mm) 16 - 20” circular needle
-
196 x size 6 beads (you’ll need more if you add repeats to the pattern) - available from our new neighbor, Caravan Beads
-
1.50 mm crochet hook to add the beads (the pattern suggests 0.75 mm, but 1.50 mm worked well for me)
-
A stitch marker (or 7+ if you want to mark off the repeats)
