Use Latifah Saafir's genius rulers and excellent pattern to make a stunning Glam Clam! We'll review fabric choices, cut & prepare clamshells and corner/side pieces, and start building the quilt top with lots of clever tips and tricks. 

Choose 6", 8", or 12" clams. Your ruler will be ready for you at your class, with the option to buy other sizes if you'd like.

Fabric needs will vary greatly depending on the size of quilt and clamshell. Below is an estimate of total yardage needed. For 6" and 8" clammys, fat quarters would work well. For 8", also consider 1/2 yard cuts, and for 12", 5/8 yard cuts would be good. Maximum variety = maximum impact!

Estimated clamshell fabric:
Baby - 4yds
Throw - 7yds
Twin - 10yds
Full - 12 yds
Queen - 14yds
Kind - 16yds

This is the estimated total yardage...divide this by the cuts to determine what to bring. Example, for the Baby size = 4yds, you'd need 16 fat quarters, 8 half yards, 7 @ 5/8 yard cuts. But plan to have lots of choices! If you have a favorite fat quarter bundle, it will work well but your cuts will be more restricted; you'll want at least 25 fq's for the 12" clams in a baby size. For the 8" clams, about 18, and about 16 for the 6" clammy.
